A lot of people choose to work for DoorDash when they are college students or working other jobs. This is because the hours are very flexible and they can work and still do all the things that they want to do. You are not glued down to one set of working hours.

Traveling is Your Main Job

When you work for DoorDash you spend your entire working hours traveling throughout the city or town where you live, delivering orders. This could be viewed as a pro or a con because some people view this as a good thing while other people think it is a bad thing.

The one way having to travel all over town can be a bad thing is when you are the one who has to pay for gas. With DoorDash, you do have to provide your own gas so that sucks. Maybe if they provided gas the time spent traveling around and burning gas would be time well spent because you are reimbursed for gas.

There Are Some Rude Customers

This also means that you are going to get all of those rude customers that don’t want to tip and that complain about their food not being right or it taking too long.

Although these things are usually true when it comes to DoorDash, it is not something that you would want to deal with.Rude customers will be a part of your day to day life when you drive for DoorDash.

You Get No Benefits

With DoorDash you are a gig worker so there are no benefits. Benefits are important to a lot of people so if you are one of those people then working a regular job may be in your best interest.

Even though you would be a gig worker, you would think they would have some sort of benefits system but they don’t at all.

Your regular job probably has great benefits. If this is the case, that is who I would work for because with DoorDash you don’t get any benefits. You are expected to pay for your own health insurance, gas and make a way to pay your bills even when you are sick.

When you work a regular job you tend to have longer work hours. This can be good or bad. If you want to work a lot of hours to save for something you’ve been wanting to do or just to pay your bills then a regular job would be your best bet.

However, if you want to work only a few hours a week then DoorDash may be a better option for you because it doesn’t have a set schedule but you are able to choose your own hours.

Longer hours can be really good if you are a workaholic. You may be able to work more hours as a gig worker for DoorDash than at your regular job. Sometimes, with regular jobs, there aren’t as many hours available.

In this case, working for DoorDash would work better for you. Just keep in mind that you don’t have to work on certain days or at certain times if you really don’t want to.

There Is No Paid Leave

Speaking of being sick, when you have to undergo a procedure or just need some time off, your regular job will probably give you this and still pay you. If you can’t work for some reason, DoorDash is not going to pay you.
