Food delivery services will continue to do record-breaking business in the years ahead. This type of service has been growing very rapidly in recent years.
The reason is simple: people are getting busier and busier. It is very difficult to find time for cooking. As a result, more people are switching to food delivery services every year.
According to a market research report, the US online food delivery market was valued at around $31.9 billion in 2024 and is forecast to reach $74 billion by 2033, growing at a compound annual rate of 9.3%. (source)
In a recent study, DoorDash found that in a typical month, about 70% of US consumers order food for delivery, 70% pick up takeout, and 68% dine at a restaurant, suggesting most people are doing all three regularly. (source)
