Uber Eats Server Errors – What Does It Mean And What Can I Do?
An Uber Eats Server Error is an issue that happens when the servers that run the app for Uber Eats cannot process the volume of requests its receiving. If these requests are not processed, the food order trying to be made will not go through. If this happens to you, you can try restarting the application or contact Uber Eats Customer Support.
What Is a Server Error?
A server error occurs when there is a problem with either the operating system, the website or app, or the internet connection itself. If you receive a notification about a server error while making an order with Uber Eats, it means that their servers are unable to process the request for your order.
Can I Avoid It Happening Again In The Future?
You can encounter a server error for several different reasons, some of which may be out of your realm of control. For instance, if the issue is on Uber Eats’ server side of things, that is out of your control, and there isn’t much you can do on your end to avoid it happening again in the future.
However, if you realize that you were trying to make an order in a location with very poor internet service, you can be more mindful of where you are when you place future orders and ensure that you are in a place with good reception and service.
Uber Eats even has payment issues sometimes.
“Server Error at Checkout” – What Happened?
You may receive this error notification for a few reasons – your connection may be subpar, Uber Eats’ servers may be suffering an outage, or perhaps you put in your card information incorrectly.
Also, be mindful that if the shop you are trying to order from closes in the time that you put your order through, you will also receive this message.

What Can I Do?
While there aren’t many options you can use if the server error is coming from Uber Eats’ end, there are a few things you can do to make sure it isn’t a fault of your own:
Try Again. Sometimes, hiccups happen with applications. Sometimes simply placing the order again may clear the error.
Restart Your Mobile Phone or Other Device. Perhaps the hiccup occurred within your device and not the app, which can often be cleared by restarting your phone and placing the order again.
Wait a Moment. If you are trying to place an order during an exceptionally busy time, the Uber Eats App may just be overloaded with orders. In this circumstance, you may just have to wait it out for a few minutes to have your order go through.
Contact Customer Support. If you try all of the above steps to fix the issue and you are still unable to complete your order, an Uber Eats customer service representative may be able to assist you.
Can I Still Complete My Order?
Yes, you can still complete your order! Unless, of course, the reason you received this error was that the shop you were trying to order from is closed, in which case you will have to choose somewhere else. Go through the steps listed above to try again to complete your order.
Why Am I Getting an “Internal Server Error” Message?
If you receive this error message, it means that the Uber Eats servers are experiencing an incredibly high amount of volume and are unable to process your request.
What Can I Do?
In this circumstance, you will have to be patient and wait a few minutes before trying to place your order again. It may take longer than you would prefer, but eventually, your order should go through as their servers process through the backlog of food orders made during that time of high volume.
If you have waited and tried and tried again and still are unable to complete your order, contact a Customer Service Rep for additional assistance. You can call their phone support line at any time, at 1-800-253-9377.
Different Versions of Uber Eats Errors
We’ve covered the two big server errors that you may run into in the Uber Eats App, but what if you receive a different message? Here are a few examples of other common Uber Eats error messages, what they mean, and what you can do to solve the issue.
“Oops. Let’s Try That Again”
If this message appears, it indicates that there was an internet connectivity problem between you and the app. This is one of the most common notifications that people receive when attempting to place an order on the app.
If you are getting this error notification, chances are you are in a location with bad connectivity. Suppose you are able to relocate; trying again while in a place of better reception will most likely fix this issue. Sometimes simply walking outside of the building you are in can fix the problem.
If you are unable to relocate, you can also try swapping between your Wi-Fi and your mobile data if you are placing your order on a smartphone, tablet, or similar device.
“Unknown Error Please Try Again”
When this notification appears, it usually means that there has been an unexpected issue within the Uber Eats app. When you receive this error, you won’t be able to place an order for delivery until the problem is solved.
The simplest way to solve this is by following the error message’s prompt and “try again.” Additionally, restarting the Uber Eats app altogether is also recommended. Restarting your Uber Eats app clears out the cache (or short-term memory) of the app. Most errors come from issues with the app’s short-term memory.
Restarting your device can have this same effect while also removing any possible errors that may have been caused by your phone’s cache too.
“There was an Unknown Error With Our System”
You will receive this error message when the delivery app experiences an outage or slowdown. This error indicates that the problem is not with your phone but instead coming from Uber’s end.
With this error, you can try to wait things out and hope that whatever has happened on their end is resolved in a timely fashion so you can complete your food order, or call the Customer Support line at 1-800-253-9377.
