- You can return a product within 30 days of purchase for an exchange or refund in the original payment form.
- A 10-day timeframe is necessary for cash refunds on check purchases.
- Returns with a receipt over 30 days, gift receipts, or orders without receipts will only be eligible for in-store credit. In-store credit is subject to the HomeGoods Terms and Conditions.
Note: Refunds and exchanges may also be declined based upon the HomeGoods verification system to reduce fraudulent activity. The verification system is utilized to process and track refunds to help the loss prevention program.
You Can’t Return Certain Items
HomeGoods does not accept returns or exchanges for certain products, including:
- Products that are used, worn, or in an unsellable condition. These products will not be eligible for reimbursement, exchange, or in-store credit.
- Swimwear and intimate apparel need to have a properly attached ticket. Other restrictions can apply to these products.

You can easily return HomeGoods products purchased online or in-store via mail by following the criteria and steps below:
- You can return products purchased online to any HomeGoods location within 40 days of your order date. You can also return products purchased online using the return-by-mail feature.
- You can use the return shipping label included in your receipt and drop off the package at the shipping carrier on the return label. However, you’ll have a return shipping and handling charge of $14.99 deducted from your refund or in-store credit.
- Ensure you include your receipt or a copy of the shipping confirmation email in your return package.
- Orders that arrive at the HomeGoods warehouse more than 40 days after the original order date will only receive in-store credit.
- HomeGoods return policies are subject to local, state, and federal guidelines.

Note: You may receive shipping surcharges in addition to standard processing fees for oversized products based on the size and weight of a product. Shipping and handling fees alongside shipping surcharges are not refundable.
What’s the Refund Processing Speed?
For mail returns, your bank account or debit card will typically be credited within 10 to 14 business days after HomeGoods receives your qualifying order. However, this will depend on your bank account, debit card, or billing cycle. In-store credits are typically eligible after HomeGoods receives the product.
In-store returns are refunded to the original payment form on the spot. You will receive in-store credit on the spot if your situation applies. However, it can take a few days until your bank account or debit card registers the refund.
What About PayPal Returns?
PayPal returns vary whether you return the products to in-store locations or by mail.
- In-Store: In-store returns for purchases made with PayPal will receive a refund in the form of an in-store credit.
- By Mail: Returns made by mail for purchases made with PayPal will receive charge credit. However, you’ll be charged the $14.99 return shipping and handling fees.

What About Apple Pay Returns?
You will be required to show your receipt or email confirmation at the register when you return products to in-store HomeGoods locations. If you can’t provide either, the store associate will ask you the following:
- You’ll be asked if you have a physical credit or debit card used for the Apple Pay purchase. The HomeGoods associate can reimburse that card if applicable.
