DoorDash Only Offering Pickup On Orders
If DoorDash says pickup only this puts you in a bad spot for getting food. Or maybe it doesn’t. Still, there are a few steps you can take if DoorDash says pickup only right now.
- Solution 1: The first and easiest thing you can do is place the order with DoorDash so you can get any discounts available to you and then go pick the order up.
- Solution 2: You can wait for the DoorDash platform to come back up. Keep refreshing the app every now and then to see if the problem is solved quickly. If not, you may just have to wait or go another route.
You could report the issue on DoorDash.
Simply letting them know that the platform is down or glitching could speed things up a bit.
Even if they take their time correcting the matter, you did a good thing by letting them know.

Those are just a few of the top delivery services.
You may or may not have these services in your area. There should be at least one other delivery service in your area unless you live in a really small rural area.
In that case, the best thing for you to do is go pick your food up yourself or send someone to do it for you.
I don’t know how true this is but even if it is true, it’s not likely to happen at the same time as DoorDash’s system glitch.

Getting Impatient
No one knows for sure how long DoorDash will say pickup only. It can take a long time or a short time before the system is back up.
The best thing for anyone wanting to order from DoorDash to do is patiently wait for DoorDash to announce that their system is back up and running.
This is something they usually do for their customers.

However, some restaurants will have your food sitting on a shelf with other pickup orders and you have to go in and get it.
Because your order is up there with other orders there is a possibility that someone touched your food while sorting through looking for theirs. Wash your hands after touching the bag and before you begin to eat your food to keep germs at bay.
Pickup Is The Only Choice On DoorDash
The reason DoorDash restaurants are all saying pickup only is simply because of a system glitch that they have been experiencing for a while now. DoorDash has made announcements stating that their platform was having some technical difficulties that was preventing customers from placing delivery orders.
According to statistics Doordash is making billions of dollars. Let’s hope they can invest some of that money into fixing these problems.
If DoorDash can’t fascilitate the delivery aspect and you can just go pick it up, why not call the restaurant and order from them directly so DoorDash won’t take a percentage of the sale? As this article points out, DoorDash isn’t going out of business anytime soon, but your local restaurants sure might.
I figured out that doordash supplies a workaround to the Android glitch. Go to Apps in the Settings of your device, then select Doordash. Scroll down to “Delete Data” and delete the data. You will have to log in again, but it worked for me.
